Tapping Educational Brakes: Taking Intentional Pauses

February 16, 12:00pm - 1:15pm
Mānoa Campus, Kuykendall 106 Events Room

The world we live in and will grow into, will continue to change. Our total set of lifelong influences, including ourselves, the physical environments and the global community, have a huge impact on who we will become. How we learn to reflect, communicate and collaborate within the confines of these influences shapes us and the world around us. We can significantly form, model and enhance these influences to support teaching and learning through a new lens. Redesigning the language, scale, importance both as the physical as well as the social and emotional components, as to how we intuitively gather all lead to spatial competencies. In this workshop, David Stubbs will take you through his design journey in creating spatial competencies through the physical form. He will talk about the influences and factors that guided his creation of physical products and unconventional design process which he describes as disruptive in the most positive sense. You can find more information about Stubbs’s design work at his website. Please come and gather, share, inspire as well as learn from each other. In this conversation David Stubbs will be leaning from his recent experiences of eight days within the bamboo canopy of Green School Bali. Presented by David A. Stubbs II CEO, David Stubb Design
