"A Nuanced Peacebuilding: The Spirit of 'Friendship Through Flowers' Practiced by Ikebana International Okinawa Chapter" with Dr. Kanako Ide, Masako Zamami, and moderated by Dr. Maya Soetoro ** The Session **** This talk is to introduce a nuanced peacebuilding practiced by Ikebana International Okinawa chapter. Through their unique and quiet peacebuilding activities, this talk invites audiences to witness that it is possible, important, and morally valuable to make an effort for nurturing a type of friendship which has resistance against political tension, as an acrobatic relationship/friendship building that can hold both disagreements and intimacy alongside non-verbal communication through the mediums of art and flowers.
