We welcome you to join us for an information session led by Special Agent Kay Een and SA Justin Smith. Special Agent Kay Een serves as the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer (CDIO) for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Diversity and Inclusion Program Office (DIPO). She started her career with NCIS in her home state of Hawaii (2003-2006). As an Agent, she has worked across the spectrum of criminal investigations, to include specializing in Internet Crimes Against Children and Procurement Fraud investigations. Special Agent Een served in NCISRA Okinawa Family & Sexual Violence (F&SV) Unit (06-09); NCIS Headquarters Child Exploitation Operations Desk Officer (09-10); NCISRA Camp Pendleton Special Operations Unit/F&SV (10-13) and NCISRA Washington DC Economic Crimes Unit (13-16).
Special Agent Een holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Forensic Science from Chaminade University of Honolulu. Prior to NCIS, Special Agent Een served honorably in the United States Navy as an Air Traffic Controller (Aviation Warfare) and Naval Air Crewman where she deployed in support of both Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM. Among many other personal awards, she was nationally recognized with honor at the National Association of Police Organizations “Top Cop” Awards Ceremony in 2011. She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and a native Japanese language speaker. Special Agent Een resides in Fairfax, VA with her husband, LtCol Chad Grimmett, USMC, and two children, Kenji and Cora.
