The Center for Biographical Research presents: “Footstepping, Perhapsing, and Bio-bits” Li Shan Chan, PhD student in English at the University of Hawai‘i at ԴDz and 2021 Biography Prize winner Cosponsored by Hamilton Library, the International Cultural Studies Program, and the Departments of Ethnic Studies and Asian Studies Thursday, September 16 at 12PM to 1:15PM (HST) on Zoom Zoom Meeting ID: 959 4518 4532 Password: 330127 Meeting link: https://hawaii.zoom.us/j/95945184532 Lee Wen, was a pioneering performance artist from Singapore, who wrote poetry, played the guitar, and made paintings. Most of all, he made ideas come alive through his performance art. In 2020, the Center for Biographical Research in Honolulu awarded Li Shan the Biography Prize for her coursework essay on Lee Wen. In this session, she will read her essay and welcome any questions that you may have. Li Shan Chan is a PhD student at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, with an interest in life writing. Prior to this, she completed writing residencies at the Asian University for Women in Chittagong and Sing Lit Station in Singapore, as well as an MA in Biography and Creative Nonfiction at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England.
