Malama Kekahi i Kekahi: Recovery Ally Training

Training open to all Â鶹´«Ã½System Campuses (students, faculty, & Staff) Students in recovery or on their healing journey from substance misuse face many unique challenges along their journey through academia. We hope that through this workshop, we are able to grow safe, judgement-free spaces throughout the college community and campus where our haumana on their healing journey can turn to for empathy, understanding, and a connection to resources to help them succeed and feel supported. This training will: -Demonstrate that recovery is a long-term process with unique implications for student/individual success. -Confront myths and stigma regarding addiction, recovery, and healing. -Introduce appropriate language related to addiction and recovery. -Convey the importance of empathy and openness with students and individuals in recovery. -Present the resources Â鶹´«Ã½M?noa has for students in recovery and how to access those services.
