Beginning and End of the Bomb

The exhibit explores origins and threat of nuclear weapons. This is an updated exhibit, Beginning and End of the Bomb illustrates the role of nuclear weapons since 1945 and hopes to reduce and spur possible solutions to this existential threat.

The exhibit originated in 1995 as Fifty Years with the Bomb to mark the 50th anniversary of the development and use of nuclear weapons during World War II. One of the updates to the exhibit will include atomic bomb survivor, Larry Miwa’s ‘Hiroshima’ a-bomb diary, few surviving family photos, and artifacts surrounding that ‘unforgettable morning’ will be on display.

Also on display will be thousands of Peace Cranes made my youth all over Japan as part of the Sadako Peace Crane Project. Visitors are welcome to take some of the individual Peace Cranes.
